I haven’t run into many fluent English speakers in Haikou, and yet there is English everywhere. Shopping is a little bit like going to Forever 21; you think you see something you like and then it has something funny or strange written on it. It’s not just clothing though – it’s everywhere. Unfortunately for China, but lucky for us, it seems no one is proof reading.
On a daily basis I see poor translations and funny signs. The English isn’t always necessarily bad, but the context makes it amusing. I’ve decided to document all the good ones I see.
